Katherine Heigl discusses her experiences as a child within a "white bubble" has impacted the way that she raised her adoptive multiracial family. In an interview, the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" actress shared her looks didn't bother her. But after speaking to her adopted sister from South Korea about how society was treating them, she became conscious of the differences their lives were. "I I asked my sister Meg whether she'd been treated in one manner when she was out in public with our parents and in a different manner in the time she was by herself without them. Meg replied, "Oh, yes, every time!' Heigl told parents: "That was when I realized that my naivety had caused me to feel." The actress said that she was frustrated, but decided to channel that energy to aid the adopted children she has. Heigl has a four year old son and a 13-year-old wife, Josh Kelley. The couple adopted their daughters Nancy Leigh, 12, from South Korea in 2009 and Adalaide, 8 and Black from South Korea in 2012.
