Laura Linney was one of the greatest American actors of recent times. Her savacious and flimsy roles has made her a household name. Her father was a celebrated playwright, but Linney was raised as a single child with a single mother and nurse. Through the summer months and with her father Linney discovered a love for the theatre. Linney eventually pursued acting first in Brown University then at Juilliard School. After graduating at Brown University she made her Broadway debut shortly thereafter. In the space of two years from this, her first feature film was released and the next year her TV debut. She has been featured on a number of television, film and stage productions since then. Through her entire career, she has received several awards. Some of them include the two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. In spite of numerous awards acting has been her passion first and foremost. She has continued to appear both on stage and screen.
